＜ 安田のシヌグ Shinugu of Yasuda ＞
安田のシヌグは、沖縄本島北部・国頭村安田に伝わる古い祭祀で、
起源ははっきりしませんが、数百年以上続くといわれています。
本来は2年に一度8月に行われる豊年祈願の祭りです。
昼には、男性たちがやんばるの森に入り、
クバ（ビロウ）などの葉を身につけて神の姿となり集落へ戻ります。
これは、森の神の力を村へ迎える意味があります。
夜になると、女性たちが祈りの歌と踊りを捧げる神聖な儀礼が行われ、
豊作、子孫繁栄、そして村の安泰が祈られます。
安田のシヌグは、やんばるの森と人々の暮らしの深いつながりを今に伝える祭りです。
Shinugu of Yasuda is an ancient ritual tradition held in Yasuda village in Kunigami, northern Okinawa.
Its exact origin is unknown, but it is believed to have continued for hundreds of years.
Traditionally, the festival was held once every two year in August.
During the day, men enter the Yanbaru forest and return wearing kuba palm leaves and other sacred plants, symbolizing the spirits of the forest.
This represents bringing the power of nature back to the village.
At night, women perform sacred songs and dances, offering prayers for a good harvest, healthy families, and the prosperity of the community.
The Shinugu ritual reflects the deep relationship between the Yanbaru forest and the people who live there.
